Guess you use kdm from kde 3?
I had the same problems there too, using kde 3.0.2 from
kde3.geniussystems.net.
I replaced my /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc (guess so, sitting in front of a different
machine now) with the ~.dpkg-dist version and it worked fine.

you say it works with Mozilla which makes me guess they use
smtp-authentication which is being used by some ISPs nowadays.
POP-before-SMTP support might have been dropped at the same time. I don't

flash sites don't work (eg the menu on the german netzine telepolis,
www.telepolis.de -> select an article, the menu should be on the left).

Konqureror could simply provide the link handling functionality (save link

After updating my KDE (potato, now 2.1.1/kdelibs 2.1.2) my /etc/kde2/kdmrc
was empty (so KDM showed every user). I said "no" to both questions about
overwriting kdm config files (those in /etc/X11/kdm I think). Is this a
packaging problem?

It's the same problem here and I always use dselect which dist-upgrades
automatically. My installed kdebase* packages are:

there's an arts plugin for xmms. i use it & it works fine.
