I am running into the same issue. I submitted the unsub request at that
link but I have done it before and still getting emails days later.
Email is not being forwarded either as I know this was the account I
signed up on and all that.
I am curious if there is a bug in the unsub process.

Hi
I'm running KDE on an up-to-date Woody system and while all other KDE
applications are running fine, KNode will only start if I su to root and
launch it from a terminal window.
I'm guessing it must be some kind of permissions problem but am not too sure
where to look.
Thanks =)

d not
if I start it via kdm?
whereabouts does the xhost +localhost go?
thanks for your help I'm just mystified as to why everything else works and
knode doesnt

KMail/KOffice/Konqueror etc. seem to be fine,
its just KNode that isn't running - no error messages or anything - if I try
from the menus the cursor starts to flash as if it is trying to load but then
it disappears.
Any ideas on things to try?
Rachel
it is something fixable it would be good to know.
Thanks

into
sources.list and add it into apt/preferences ?
I'd just like to know if it is likely to work with KDE2.2 before I do so!

I'm still having kdm problems but I eventually got it to start up from the
shell but.. and this seems weird...
I can get KDE launched if I say that I have a Cirrus graphics card but it
will only display at 640x480, I do get an error to do with the mouse

get any errors during the install of KDE from
unstable, I did
apt-get -t unstable install kde
and it seemed to be downloading and then installing all the bits I would
expect so I'm guessing it is misconfigured somewhere.
Rachel
t trash this install and start over with my CD?
Rachel
doing apt-get remove kde* --purge
but it wouldn't let me due to dependencies. If I could get rid of those
perhaps there would be space? The thing boots up from a floppy and will let
me use apt but thats about it.
Any ideas?
Rachel
Use /etc/apt/preferences. (from apt 0.5.x, you might have to manually
upgrade apt first) like this:
this is something new in the latest version of apt? Am I right in thinking
that would make the one with the priority if 900 the one that would be used
by default?
and in sources.list I would need
2 binaries? In unstable? How do I just get
those and not end up upgrading accidentally to the unstable version of
Debian? (I'm still struggling a bit with apt-get so apologies if these are
really silly questions).
Rachel
'd be grateful. Can I upgrade via
apt-get ?
Rachel
tion, I've been searching
all afternoon for something that might set me in the right direction but to
no avail. If anyone could either explain what I can do to at least get back
to what I had/to upgrade KDE or point me to some information elsewhere I'd
be very grateful.
Thankyou =)
