In the reverse search in KDVI the editor Nedit is invoked by default as
ncl -noask -line %l %f
In Debian the editor Nedit is invoked as
nedit-nc -noask -line %l %f

I restarted the computer today and the problem with konsole
has spread to all kde applications so maybe, after all it is the
i8n patch for japanese support. Strange ...

they are displayed correctly. It just prevents from typing
them. Can anybody else reproduce this bug before I submit
a bug report?

is is not the definitive solution. The "Unicode" font is
very unpleasant, one should be able at least to use other fonts that support
unicode.

You'll better run mkttfdir in truetype's font dir. It is in package fttools.
It will recreate the correspoding fonts.dir just as mkfontdir does for non

I had the same problem. My only fonts left at KDE where the fixed font family!
It was solved by switching off the antialiasing option in the styles menu.
