KDE crashed on me. Now I can't start a kde session (it hangs on different steps
each time). Worse, when I try to use a kde app in gnome and use the file-open
dialog I get "Could not start process Can't talk to klauncher"
I've tried deleting .kde; deleting /tmp/ dirs and the dcop dirs in ~/ but

I've been having unresolved problems with menus in kde (as described in
previous messages). I just want to start from scratch without purging kde and
redownloading all the kde files (I'm on a modem). How can I do this?
Are any kde menu settings found in non user folders?

A while back I removed the menu package from Debian. I may or may not have
manually deleted the shell menus after that, but I'm not sure. I've since
re-installed the menu package. Gnome and xfce4 show debian menus. How do I get

The thing that is kind of strange is that the diversion of kio_https.* does
not appear to behave the same here and with my other computer (where https
works fine), which makes me wonder if the problem wouldn't be a

Hello !
I've just upgraded the most important KDE packages on my potato box
(i386) and it seems that update-menus now has some problems. What should
I do ? Tell me if you need more details.
Thanks for your time.
