Geoff,
Huge thanks! I also upgraded and found no icons. However, I didn't know
which packages were the issue until I saw your message. I peeked at the
changelog and guessed an alternate answer: install the new package qt6-svg-

Hi All,
Upgrading on sid this morning libqt6svgwidgets6 and libqt6svg6 from version
6.7.2-4 to 6.7.2-5 resulted in missing icons in menus, systray etc, downgrading
again resolved the issue.

I had to remove the config files from /etc/sddm.conf.d/ as I had the same
thing. sdd
on, but Internet searches are just bringing up
how to use the tool, which isn't helpful.
You could try kscreen-doctor, I use it to change refresh rates but it can do
resolution too.

Last update March 7, 2018. I think it's a
IBM T43 and
actually got the ipw2200 working till a kernel upgrade came through and then I
lost wireless and being a noob I
couldn't get it going again :-)
I tried Linux Mint (Cassandra) and only one click got my wireless working.
All the Beryl things work out of the box too. And the T43
again, although it also occurs when
logged in as root.
Can you please clarify "rights problem " ?
Do you mean a legal one, or Unix permissions ?

Thank you Matej.
I tried it the KDE way, and it worked first time.
However, when you have a choice of two, as I suppose you do, do you
have to go
through the same procedure each time you wish to swap alphabets ?
Best regards, and thanks to the list.
Geoff.
Then there is KDE-way. Go to
correct UK English locale with the appropriate
keymap still ?
I wonder how bilingual people get on. Can they switch between differing
alphabets ?
I'll keep looking !
Thanks for your help.

The problem is that I have run out of ideas.
I have thought of going right back to Woody, which was OK, and then
upgrading bit by bit
until the fault re-appears.
Any better ideas please ?

konqueror "look" for

the jre's plugin so that it is listed in konqueror.
Also installed libnsp but this didn't make any
difference.
