I am currently developing a project using KDevelop (v2.1, as distributed with
debian/stable) and would like to produce a well-behaved .deb (ie that can be
installed on stable systems without having to fetch anything else exotic, and
work 'out of the box'). All my dependencies are in stable
Strange, I chose Debian because it's Free, stable, feature-rich and fairly
easy to use. The stable distribution is perfect for people who want a
general-purpose operating system and have real work to get done, rather than
just playing with a technological toy.

I recently upgraded my woody install to current and ever since have been
experiencing problems with logging in.
1. When first logging in after a boot, the splash screen spend ages on the
second initialisation stage and also the 'panel' stage. After that the screen
goes pale grey for ever.
