How to set fg/bg on Widgets and desktop popups

Wheezy KDE: 4.8.4, QT 4.8.2 All my widgets (time and weather) display text white fg and light gray bg. Popups are the same. It's mostly unreadable. Is there any way to set fg/bg ?... yes I have tried settings and web search. I am running Oxygen theme. -- _
