I’ll try an upgrade to KDE 3.3.
When I start a KDE session, I never have sound.
If I run /etc/init.d/alsa start, it doesn't help. If I run alsaconf, my sound
is restored. However, if I log off and back on, it's gone. If I run
alsaconf from a console outside KDE, then log in, there's no sound.
