I alerted Daniel Stone to this issue in December; I also found
that the solution is to rewrite the file /var/lib/dpkg/status to
remove the dependency of the package wp-full to xlib6g. The
files previously in that package are now provided by another
package, and I have been running wp 8 this way

FWIW, this wasn't an RC bug (in fact the bug wasn't even in the debian
BTS). It was however a bug that had been annoying me, and

The solution is posted on http://wiki.debian.net/?DebianKDE
Error message on startup: "Could not start kdeinit. Check your
installation and try again."
This is due to a missing newline on line 164 of /usr/bin/startkde, after
"LD_BIND_NOW=true"

Hi,
I want to upgrade a working kde3.14 application to kde3.2, but it
fails compiling a KHTMLPart object of my view widget. To debug it, I
have just changed my object with the following code (provided as part
of an example found at the kde3.2 api reference):
KURL url = "http://www.kde.org";;

Hello Debian-KDE developers,
Christopher Martin was kind enough to send me a documentation
of the kderemove menu tag.

Try Google. There was a long thread with this same subject a few weeks
back. Lots of possible solutions.
Good luck,
Andrew.

Hi,
I have upgraded KDE 3.1.4 to
KDE 3.2 and when I start KDE I get error “Could not start Kdeinit. Check your installation“
Now

starts long time too. Other application (no from KDE) works fine.
After
that I have removed KDE 3.2 and in
I got in trouble because I suscribed on my work computer. Please take me off.
Thank-you.
KDE 3.2 is slowly being uploaded to experimental. It may take some time
to show up there due to the many packaging changes, and therefore the
NEW status of many packages.
Available in (or incoming to) experimental:
arts 1.2.0-0pre1v1
kdelibs 3.2.0-0pre1v1
kdeadmin 3.2.0-0pre1v1
NEW - waiting on

I don't use KDE 3.2
My main word processor is WP8!
Haven't switched to KDE 3.2 yet though. Thanks for the pre-warning. I hope
there is a solution.

KDE 3.2 depends on xlibs 4.3.x, which conflicts with xlibs6, which is
required for WP8 for Linux to run. Therefore, WP8 is toast.
But we still need to run WP here. AFAICT, the only other option is WP2K4L.
I'll consider buying a copy, but I want to be sure first that it will work
with KDE 3.2.
