After trashing my .kderc directory in a vain attempt to reset KDE, I have lost all ability to use X.   When I startx, the graphic Liquid splash screen pops up.  Two dialogs appear in order: Cannot start kdeinit and cannot start the ksmserver.  Then I am dumped back into the console.   I've tr
