KDM problem

I have upgraded today to the newest KDE 2.1.1 packages for Potato, and find a couple of small problems with KDM. - If I decide to use the new /etc/kde2/kdmrc instead of the old one I have, I only get sessions for failsafe, and default. No session for kde2. I fix this just by editing the file a

Correct method for installing new apps

Hi Whats the recommended way of intsalling self compiled KDE apps ? Ivans KDE release goes in /usr and most things I compile myself I would put in /usr/local however with KDE this doesnt work too well and I end up having to symlink them to /usr/bin or whatever. I could just change the options wh

hi there ! i am using potatoe with kde 2.1.1 . at the moment, i am thinken about switching to kdm for login. but there is one problem: everytime, when i logout from kde, the xconsole appears and you must type exit to come back to the kdm login screen. does anyone know, how i can fix this ? daniel
