On my system it is not. I click on a .mp3 file and xmms loads and plays
the .mp3 file. However I'm running post 2.2alpha KDE packages as I don't have
a way to test with what's currently in unstable so if it's a KDE problem I
can't verify it.

I have upgraded today to the newest KDE 2.1.1 packages for Potato, and find a
couple of small problems with KDM.
- If I decide to use the new /etc/kde2/kdmrc instead of the old one I have, I
only get sessions for failsafe, and default. No session for kde2. I fix this

I've been trying to compile kups under potato with Ivan's packages, but first
I need to get qtcups working. Unfortunately, when I try to compile it, I get
the following errors:

Thanks for the pointer Jens, I haven't plated with deb-make yet. I am
feeling quite comfortable with Debian now (was a SuSE user untill
about 3 months ago and RedHat way back when) so since mt 2.2r3 CDs
arrived yesterday I can feel a reinstal coming on for my laptop. Looks
like making my own debs i

To me vi is Zen. To use vi is to practice zen. Every command is
a koan. Profound to the user, unintelligible to the uninitiated.
You discover truth everytime you use it.
Hi,
after just upgrading the Potato stuff, I get this message:
May 14 11:00:21 wrpc3 kernel: kdeinit uses obsolete /proc/pci interface
How can I have kdeinit use the actual /proc/bus/pci/?
Thanks in advance,

Hi
Whats the recommended way of intsalling self compiled KDE apps ?
Ivans KDE release goes in /usr and most things I compile myself I
would put in /usr/local however with KDE this doesnt work too well and
I end up having to symlink them to /usr/bin or whatever.
I could just change the options wh

switching to kdm for login. but there is one problem: everytime, when i

to the kdm login screen.
does anyone know, how i can fix this ?
daniel
yes ... there is ...
first: in the control center sounds -> soundserver
deaktivate the arts soundsevrer
second: under system bell (don't know what item it is, i have the german
language under kde) you can check a checkbox named "use system bell
instead of system notfication"

Hi there, all.
There is one thing that annoys me a lot: konsole sends beeps
through KDE's sound deamon, but I'd prefer the standard
behaviour of, say, rxvt.
Is there any way of doing that? I've searched a little bit,
but I found nothing yet. :-(
Hi All,
After upgrading to the new stable potato KDE packages, I noticed
that my favourite font have evaporated from konsole. I use the
"Linux" font, the menu is still there, selected, but the font is
substituted with something else. When tried to find the font, went
to custom font then back to "L
