If you're preparing some packages, why don't you use a development
distribution like testing or sid? Since new packages will show up in sid
and if you backport Gradle you need to backport dozens of other packages.
Gradle in Jessie is quite old but I'm not sure if it is really necessary

Hi Andreas,
I guess you backported gradle-debian-helper to Jessie too? In this case
just remove the --console parameter in gradle.pm [1] and it will work
better.
