here goes- I installed j2re1.. into /usr/local/j2re1.../ as root. When I tried to run freenet I received a bunch of output. I found out kaffe was default java program ( please forgive me for my lack of knowledge on java- Sun, Blackdown, kaffe???) I read this fine manual http://www.debian.org/doc
