If enabled by default, please offer a reliable way for applications to
disable it. We don't need it for JOSM, and we have been so impacted with
jaw's problems in the past years that we will never want it enabled by
default for us.

Don't wait for openjdk guys for an answer: they simply don't care anymore
with desktop technologies.

Right now it's too difficult to disable ATK on Java 10 and remain
compatible with Java 8. I'll revisit this topic once we migrate to Java 11.

Hello,
Since today we are spammed by bug reports from Linux Mint and Ubuntu when
people try to launch JOSM with the latest Java update
(10.0.2+13-Ubuntu-1ubuntu0.18.04.1):

The error is "ClassNotFoundException: org.GNOME.Accessibility.AtkWrapper".

It was painful to wait this long (3 months) but Ubuntu maintainers have
finally backported and released the fix 1 hour ago. Finally we won't be
spammed by this error anymore :)

Great work!
I would probably have named the first one "src:eclipse-equinox-bundles",
unless there is a good reason not to do that.
Same for "libequinox": why not libeclipse-equinox? It's more verbose, but I
don't know if equinox is known outside of Eclipse?

Hello,
I would be in favor to drop the JOSM feature that uses the sun security
packages but not all the team agrees with that see

We'll check on our side what we can do.

I have open the following Merge Request:

Can you please review it? As it is the first time I update a Debian package
I surely have missed/broken something.

Does it speak to anyone? I'm not sure if I must install something else or
if it comes from a packaging problem.

Hello,
Thank you Emmanuel for fixing #894979 in ca-certificates-java 20180413.
As you can guess, this bug impacts a lot of JOSM users on Ubuntu 18.04.
Do you know when the new package version will be available for bionic? I
wonder if we should do something upstream or tell our users to patiently

I think this is because you call "gradle" instead of "./gradlew".
Current version of gradle debian package is 3.4.1. The minimal version
compatible with Java 9 is 4.2.1, see

Hello,
Following Emmanuel's request for more manpower in the Java 10/11 migration
I volunteer to help.
I have very little Debian packaging experience so I may ask beginner/rookie
questions; I hope this is OK.
I am interested in upgrading icedtea-web to fix #886109 and #894360.
My first question: Is
That's clearly too late for Java 9, I'm afraid your bug report will not be
accepted.
To avoid detecting this kind of breakage so late in the development cycle,
maybe the Debian Java team could join the Quality Outreach [1]. There are a
lot of Java open source projects out there, reporting feedback
