I realized that message has been forwarded to *all* buildd maintainers,
and I answered there. So let me forward the answer to the bug report.

I have just killed the build on mipsel and mips64el.

add yet another format of tzdata. Another
possible solution not listed above is to modify openjdk-8 to use the
same format as openjdk-8. As far as I understand, it should be about
porting the openjdk-7 code to openjdk-8.
If that is not possible, I guess we can go with #2 for jessie, and drop
;working on this myself.
There is no point in trying to update an s390 specific patch while this
architecture doesn't exist anymore in jessie and sid, replaced by s390x.
This patch should just be removed and s390 removed from the
architectures handled in java-common.

atch I sent for MIPS also mentions SPARC as it has the same
alignment constraints. That said the patch fixes zero, while SPARC is
using hotspot by default instead. Maybe using zero on SPARC is a
possibility, though it will decrease performances.

o the problem, the
code is there to support mips, so there should not be that much to
change. In the meantime defaulting to gcj seems to be the things to do.

openjdk is now available on s390x, so it would be nice if java-common
can default to it. The patch below should do the job. Thanks in advance.

tch to gcj-4.6 as
a bootstrapping compiler. They build fine when using gcj-4.4, and it
seems it's what has to be done so that mips doesn't block anything. I am
working to find the issue in gcj-4.6, but it will take more time.

Could we also have a freeze exception for lenny?
