Hi
Whilst I can see that being unable to install sun-java6 from sid is
annoying, you should be able to work around it easily enough.
Depending on your exact requirements you could either install sun-java5 or
install 6-00-2 from testing, or grab 6-04-2 from
http://snapshot.debian.net/sun-jav

Hi
Sun-java5 1.5.0-11-1 was uploaded to unstable 25 days ago with several fixes
that would be good to see in etch [1]. (The fix for Ubuntu #71933 is
arguable RC). Are any of the maintainers planning to ask the release team
to unblock it?
If the release team aren't prepared to unblock it, (

Hi
I have multiple jdks installed, including gcj-4.1, sun-java5 (from non-free),
Sun and IBM java 1.4 (via sarge's java-package).
When I use update-java-alternatives --set java-gcj to switch to gjc, I get

I don't know, but Arnaud Vandyck (who did the packaging) is subscribed to
Debian-java, so sending your question back to back to the list.

Hi Jack
I'm have no experience running servlets, but I am using Java on Debian, and
can make a stab at some of your questions.

Given that there is already a command pdebuild, I'd like to suggest a
different name to save possible confusion

I haven't. And I won't since Wolfgang said that jikes is only sticking closer
to the spec than sun's javac.

Hi
The subject line says it all. Anyone know of any free JDK packages not using
jikes as a compiler?
The reason that I ask is that I would like to try to get Subversions java
binding (JavaHL) into the archive. (The current source package has support
for building JavaHL but it is disabled by d
