Hi list,
I am just about to do a network upgrade from a client, upgrading from Windows 98 SE to
Windows 2k, and we are using samba
2.2.19 as the network file server and domain controler.
I am just wundering if there are any little obsticles I am likely to encounter with
the change to windows

Another quick question, what would be the best set of packages to use to set up a
small news server for a intranet that
would grab any news articles say twice a day when dialed up to the net, otherwise it
just batches posts etc while the link
is offline.

he idea of building deb packages from sorce if there
isn't currently anything pre-packaged that will do the job.

would have prefered a java application so our mac users, yes we
unfortunatly have a few of thoes, can join in also. Also being a java
app there is no install for users to mess up.
Any pointers would be appreciated.

you think it is more problems then it is worth? If you have I am just
curious to what software/hardware you used and would you do it the same

Here is a neet little app that sounds like it will do what you want.
It will connect to a trusted host and then you can connect to a port on that
trusted host from a 3rd computer and get redirected back in to the firewall
one. Hmm, I probably havn't explained it very well, but check it out
anyway
