it works! It was the 'local' option in combination with 'cdtrcts' (to
satisfy macs).

I know that this is not isp related, but on this list there are people who
know a lot about pppd (I hope).
I am trying to set up a network connection between two computers which are
connected with a serial cable (null modem).
One computer is an i386 with 2.4.0, the other is an Macintosh Quadr
