The initial loading on the server will not be too great but they want to
plan for expansion. I have suggested they buy a cheaper machine now and
upgrade when their load picks up.

My plan is to move the Maildirs and /var/spool/exim onto a separate partition
(there is an empty partition on the disk) mounted ext3 with "noatime" and
"data=journal". Maybe with a new kernel. Any suggestions?

I am wondering if there is a version conflict between the modules,
or if there is a restriction on permissions or resources, inherited
from the earlier version, which prevents the apache server from
starting?

The card is rock solid and with a little fiddling it works like a
dream. Life is just much simpler if you can keep everything "Debian
