I'm using the gmail webclient right now, does it have something to do
with the HTML rich formatting because you can switch that off.

Yes. Use plaintext and the problem goes away - just used the show
original function and saw.

mime encoded text. There is absolutley no reason what so ever to
encode English using BASE-64; the only time BASE-64 should be used is
when sending binary data. It is also a waste of bandwidth. This
includes adding HTML messages.

I don't know exactly, but from the i810 driver point of view, it's
just a PCI device, no explicit kernel actions should be needed IFF
enough RAM was reserved by the BIOS.

What does your config look like? If it's indeed an i8xx video chip,
then IIRC there's no mode switching inside the driver. That's all done
