just to let you know: there will be some wannabe Hurd hackers at this
year's Chaos Communication Congress[0] in Berlin at the end of
December. Neal will probably give a talk on the Hurd, and we also
plan to organize a "Hurd Workshop".

i have been thinking about an index translator, that crawls specific
directories and compiles indices and provides a directory for each word
found, while that directory contains links to the files containing the

for a long time.
I have never installed the hurd (I do not have a computer)
and I do not know if the translator is possible (or a good idea).

I'm new bee to Hurd. I'm interested in programming in
Hurd. As a first step, i tried to implement trivial
translators for cat, tr, head commands and was pretty
successful.
Now i'm looking forward for some good projects in
Hurd, preferrably related to translators. Can u give
some good ideas?
