I just tested the supposedly fixed versions, but it turned out not to fix the
issue of DNS resolving.

FYI,
I just stumbled upon a comment [1] which said there were 2 Debian specific
patches that caused problems. I noticed one was already removed [2],
but not the other.
I'm pretty much clueless on this topic and it's also not an issue I have or
see (that I know of), so I won't file a bug for it.

resolution/connection failures, most visibly in Firefox, but the same

resolution, like "Could not connect to Sieve server".

libc.NEWS says to install libnss and/or libnss-nisplus packages.
There is no libnss package, but there is a libnss-nis (and this one shows up
in Recommends).
