Can you verify this, and fix this if it is really the problem?
Thanks

Here's a cute one. On any i386 platform, when there is an
i686-specific library in ld.so.cache, libc6 will prefer it over all
other libraries in the cac

Hi glibc and gcc Maintainers,
I need some help with this bugreport. I checked that the problem is
reproduceable. Could someone please verify that the problem description
is correct. Do you think the solution is the right one?
Thanks

I am using Sophos for Linux which is linked against it's own library
in /usr/local/Sophos/lib apparently with -R. libc6 Version
2.3.2.ds1-10 would run the binary without a problem:
ldd /usr/local/Sophos/bin/sweep
libsavi.so.3 => /us
/Sophos/

I have it in /usr/local/Sophos/ too. But if I remove the shared library
link to /usr/lib it is failing.

hat did you do, to make Sophos working on your system? What does
ldd say? Did you add a line to ld.so.conf?
