If you give from as NULL in an argument to recv from
(e.g. nbytes = recvfrom(sock, buffer, sizeof(buffer), 0, NULL, NULL);)
you get a segfault. But it's quite legal to set from to 0, and hence fromlen
to 0 in calls to recvfrom()
