I've got what looks like it might be a bug in ostream/streambuf/endl interaction, rendered down to a fairly straightforward form. If it _is_ a bug, it's obviously an upstream bug. I'm unable to figure out just who and how to report libstc++3.0-dev bugs to, however. The path is clearer if it's a gc
