I really like my 'Quietsche-Tux'. Btw, i'm very certain that HP
used them first last year. I had to swap a debian CD for one.

First a kind hello to this list. After the debian-events-de list was

As some of you might have noted, after a pause last year, i'm once

Here my 2 cents to the flyer discussion:
Although i'm willing to support the usage of linux / free software
whereever possible i would say that it is sometimes better to accept
the work by someone else no matter which software he used when the
alternative is to have nothing.

Ok, i'm sorry, i just didn't remembered the old flyers. So i think we
just have no choice. Ask the sponsor what they think and then toss them.
I thinks thats really better for the project. Its not the

Yes, but whose fault is that? Is it anybodys fault? Why don't we

I remember 1999 when i designed and printed the flyer in less than
7 days. Yes, with non-free software, but it worked and it helped
for the show.

Let me start a new thread. All the discussion is needful too, but we really
should start work on the flyer. Let me see whats need to be done:
1.) Find a sponsor for the print. Find out how much money we

2.) Find a print shop which can do the job in the next

Oh, i probably should add, that this demonstration is not really
exciting, but it shows that with scribus the flyer could be created
in a few hours maximum.
I just used some dummy text, but replace it with

No! Free Software does not mean and has never meant zero cost.

Free Software is about Freedom and

Most of the time we had more people on the both as actually were
