current result of the work of Philippe Batailler and Eric Madesclair
to switch the man pages of dpkg to PO format.

project on Alioth, along with the request to create a SVNB repository

BTW, I suggest we move all the discussions to debian-dpkg now that
Scott announced the transition publicly. This will avoid a possible
"cabal" effect, imho.

In many team maintenance projects I'm involved in, commit messages to
the project's repository are sent to mailing lists or special
addresses so that anyone can subscribe and receive them.
Fro mexperience, this improves a lot the peer review process which is
one of the benefits of team maintenance

consider that translatable strings are now frozen in dpkg.
That means that I urge you fellow developers to please coordinate with
me in case you plan to introduce changes which change a translatable
string IN ANY WAY.
