It is a small but very useful package, which is unmaintained upstream.
I have kept it inside debian, because users still request for small changes
now and then.
You will need a bit of perl knowledge to maintain it.

Check out that you actually have the libs that
ls needs, so it is no use to have ls use libc5,
if it is a libc6 executable...
You are better of finding a statically linked ls
or compile one yourself
and put it in ~bin. Then you do not need all these
libraries...
