how to test for SLIP devices

Hi, I would like the diald preinst script to check if the kernel has SLIP devices (either compiled in or in as a module). I think it should be enough to check for the string `slip' in /proc/modules and the string `sl?:' in /proc/net/dev. Is this correct? Thanks, -giuseppe PS: please cc
