Hi collegues,
I just signed up because I read on the main Debian web page, that there
is a call for designs for Wheezy. I would love to add something to it.
I'm a fellow of the Free Software Foundation Europe and in the quite
active fellowship group in Vienna/Austria/Europe.

Hi Eshat,
it's a great layout. I want to do something similar. The only thing that
could be improved from my perspective is to use a fresher green. The one
used at the moment is not as bright and friendly as it could be...
Your layout is my favourite so far.

Hi collegues,
I can understand, that our wallpaper layouts should fit into all usual
proportions (4:3, 5:4, 16:10 and 16:9). Am I right, that different
resolutions aren't a problem because they will be (hopefully
proportionally) scaled?

Hi Victor,
I like this dark swirl layout very much as well.
I'm especially fond of the simple glossy-effect you put on the swirl. I
would just skip the 3d-part of it in the background. In my opinion it
doesn't help the great effect but contradicts the interwoven background.

Hi Ulrich,
no need to apologize. It's your design and you are very capable of doing
a great job obviously.
I like your new suggestion as well. :)

Hi Firas,
thank you for your constructive feedback. (I value honesty even if it's

I get your point. On the other hand Gnome 3 made a huge step away from

Hi Shirish,
I'm not sure how to participate in designing Libre Office backgrounds
since I'm not firm with the technical demands.
Can you recommend a link with guide for doing so?

I like those soft shapes. If you hadn't told something about ice I would

Welcome Samuele,
thank you for your work.
I clearly prefer the bright ice theme, but would use the same footprints
you used as outline in the other proposals. The ice theme footprints are
far less lovely since they are not iconic for penguin steps - even if

Hi collegues,
I know this might seem insane because of the recent events, but I

Hi Stefano,
thank you for the explanation. In my opinion it was important an helps a
lot to limit frustration.
Unfortionally it looks like I joined the desktop list just to late. I
didn't learn that there was nobody caring for the voting process until

As far as I know, there are legal issues with the typo design and the

You can read more on this here:

Actually there where loads of proposals for the desktop theme.[1]
Because of a unfortunate tight timeframe there was no formal voting and
the editor just picked "Joy".

I prefer A since it fits to all other layouts and doesn't really get in
the way of the debian spiral.
