Hi,
I noticed indeed a strange behavior of fakeroot in a sid chroot
when using an old kernel (stretch) : ls and stat are not faked
(ie they output the real owner and group instead of root) whereas
file works correctly :
# file /dev/console
outputs
/dev/console: character special (5/1)
