A possible solution to fix this bug would be fixed if this package gets
unblocked for wheezy and also is moved to squeeze updates. This would
possible fix other bugs related to this package as well.
Kind Regards
Simon

Hello Dirk!
Do you mind if we upload a fix (in case we find one) for the version in wheezy?

Hi Holger,
I stumbled upon this bug report at BSP Essen today and kindy wanted to ask
you for a follow-up on the issue.
If you do not have the time to provide a reasonable solution yourself,
feel free to explain your thought on it here and I will look to fix the
issue!
Cheers,
Nik

That bug only exists in Debian stable because of the time lag, the upstream
maintainer(s) fixed that ages

what is weird that a simple rebuild solves the issue, so the upload in
t-p-u (http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2012/10/msg00314.html)
would solve it.
The question is why does a rebuild solve it? has some underlying
library changed without a proper transition?
