The test case from the link in the original report does indeed cause a
segmentation fault for me.
I looked over the patch which was linked, and it looks good. However,
when I applied it, the compile failed one of its tests. This may not be
related to the patch, though.

library symbols, which are not used anywhere else, and it's already

I was looking at bug #620866 in the "inform" package in Debian and realised
that the bug was quite old (18 months) with no maintainer activity, the source
package was two upstream versions behind and it also has a very low popcon
