In June 2007 (and before) we tried to chase down the authors of those
two file. According to several web sites it seems to be Nicolas
Kisselhoff (of whom we hope to reach him at [EMAIL PROTECTED]).
Did any of you succeeded in getting into contact? Any progress on this
bug?

Could you check that your soundcard is not managed by the alsa
snd-ice1724 driver ? There are reports of wine freezing the computer
when this driver is used.
If so as a temporary workaround you can
move /usr/lib/wine/wineoss.drv.so somewhere else and run winecfg to
choose alsa in the sound section.
