I tried to install textedit.app from source, using commands:
'apt-get source textedit.app'
'cd textedit.app*'
'debuild'
'cd ..'
Then I install it with:
'sudo dpkg -i *.deb'
but the bug still exsist.

to create a new document:

when I click in menu / Document / New I expect to
be created a new document so one can start to edit text
in it. Instead, nothing happen.
