But gave me a hint... I just cd /usr/bin; ln -s emacs-snapshot-x emacs-snapshot
and then I reinstalled emacs-snapshot...

You probably have to fix the emacs-snapshot alternative
(and possibly other alternatives) manually, please try
update-alternatives --all
(just keep pressing enter), as suggested by Henrique de Moraes
Holschuh in bug #422979. After that you can retry to install
or configure emacs-snapshot.

Downgraded to dpkg 1.13.25 and tried again, this time after removing all -el
packages...
This was the result:
emacs-install emacs-snapshot
emacsen-common: Handling install of emacsen flavor emacs-snapshot
emacsen-common: byte-compiling for emacs-snapshot
/usr/lib/emacsen-comm
