A fresh install of squeeze does not display the problem (udev 164-3).
I suggest that the work-around be put into the documentation section
related to Lenny->Squeeze upgrade.

Hi Marc,
slpim is quite a dead package, and I have lost interest in it myself.
I don't really think it has any users at all, and so it might be a
good idea to drop it now. I should have been a little more careful in
dealing with it, and should have dropped it myself a few years ago.
