pympd is installed with a /usr/bin/pympd script that runs under python2.3, but
on install python-central installs the pympd python library into the python2.4
site-packages tree only. As a result, running

I see the same problems with module-assistant. I suspect that m-a is in the
wrong here, but perhaps more information on what changed re. version.h files is
helpful:

looked into this further due to timeconstraints this weekend.
You need to manually load evdev.
The point is more that hotplug used to take care this; I'll happily add
it to /etc/modules, but I thought an extra reproducable case was helpful.

Just to add another datapoint: I cannot start the Xorg server without evdev
loaded either; loading mousedev is not enough. This is with a synaptics
touchpad on /dev/psaux (present without evdev loaded) and the
xfree86-synaptics-driver. I sus
like a problem in the G26 theme to me.

G26. And indeed, if I switch to Industrial the crash is no longer
reproducable. This should probably be reassigned to that theme then.
