I maintain planner-el, which depends on muse-el. I've been using Muse
for about 10 years, so I was very surprised to see it removed.
This bug says the "README" has invariant sections. There are two README
files in the muse-el package -- README.gz and README.Debian.

I was also able to reproduce this in a clean sid chroot (and with
pbuilder).
The first attached one line patch allows it to build for me, and fixes
several other issues
