I do not know what was fixed or why the bug was closed in the first
place. As it is the error is present unchanged even with the "fixed"
versions [gnome-settings-daemon 2
Any progress?
The bug's still closed / pending-fixed but there's no fix ... :-)

I've installed
ii gnome-settings-daemon 2.22.1-2 GNOME settings

Version: 3.0.23c-1
Severity: critical
When I tried to boot up this machine about 1h ago it would not come
up properly - ssh or VLC logins would fail. Upon closer inspection it
hung after the "nmbd" part of the samba initscript output.
