Upstream version 2.08 adds support for libjpeg8.
As a patch, copying the files from 2.08's jpeg/80/ to 2.07's jpeg/
worked for me, without copying any of the makefile changes.

can't detect sound system (ALSA) and several other libraries properly.
Linking asm folder to arch-specific directory with actual header
resolves issue.
