There is some kind of incompatibility between collectd and powerdns 2.9.22.
With powerdns support enabled in collectd, collectd connects to powerdns's unix
socket.
The connection hangs indefinitely. Further, it seems to cause collectd
The error message about 'Filter subsystem' is incorrect and should be
ignored -- that was something else here (unrelated to this particular
bugreport).
Everything else in the bugreport is accurate I believe. Also, the
exact powerdns version used is 2.9.22-1~bpo50+1.

I am disappointed that rubygems 1.1.1 has moved gem binaries back
into /var/lib/gems/1.8/bin/.
I find it somewhat annoying to have to deal with various gems'
binaries being tucked away in a location that's not in the path. I've
read the entire history to this particular bug report and under
