I cannot reproduce this problem. Renaming works as expected.
the problem appears when you set caja with "compact view" and "all
columns have the same width" and you have access to samba network.
Same problem with new user.

pdftk 1.41+dfsg-2+b1 having troubles uncompressing certain PDF files - for

Debian's 2.6.18-3: Sound works fine.
Debian's 2.6.22-3: Sound does not work.

Yes, but I think I am missing something, I can't see what for now.
If you clean and rebuild the apt-build repository, you said you still
had a reference about this ./tar_versio
on my box the kernel version in the subject solved the problem.
i would only know the cause of the problem e the fix used :-)

e that commenting out from the postinst script the line that
call ucf, completly remove the errors
also note that in gcon2-common.postinst there are only the following
two rows:
set -e
ucf /usr/share/gconf/default.path /etc/gconf/2/path
