To determine the cause of the problems, if it is CUPS related or
gutenprint or something else,
I would ask you to create a log and attach it to this bug.
You can enable logging by setting LogLevel=debug in cupsd.conf.
Then print the page which causes the problem and attach the log.

Removing IPtables also removes libvirt-daemon-sytem. If you want a
hardenend system all packages which are not used must be removed.
So leaving IPtables installed is not an option.
