It is indeed caused by both 'ifup' and 'ifdown' from 'ifupdown'
package when run with '-a' option.
This bug shoud be therefore re-assigned to ifupdown.

It has something to do with either the daemon user or cron as it runs
fine and sends an email when ran as root/sudo.
