I can confirm that this bug still exists in version 1.4.1-1.
I suggest that you switch to lyx-qt, or change the default font size
instead of using low resolution (might not work well with raster
images I guess).

There is indeed a bug here. It seems like ispell spelling won't work
at all since LyX passes it language codes instead of names. My
suggestion is to use aspell for now, it is supposedly better than
ispell anyway. The default language thing should work as well.

You're right, these files should be removed upon upgrade. Regarding
the FTBFS, the problem seems to be that lyx doesn't automatically
perform a Reconfigure if run in batch mode. We should probably forward

I have a Dell Latitude D410. After suspending with hal (through
gnome-power-manager), having pm-utils installed, X breaks. I get
"Fatal server error: lockup" in the X log.
The problem is that hal sends --quirk-vbemode-restore and
--quirk-vbestate-
Correction: uninstalling vbetool does not solve the problem. You need to
actually remove the offending lines from
/usr/share/hal/fdi/information/10freedesktop/20-video-quirk-pm-dell.fdi
