hopefully these issues can be resolved by the new maintainer with
upstream.

With the new upstream release, this is the recommended way to achieve
glipper persistence, as given in the new glipper Help documentation,
available by right clicking the glipper icon.
This bug report will be closed when the new version is uploaded.
