Took some playing around but the solution was to play around with
symlinks since sylpheed uses the directory names and not directory
structure to create the subfolders. i.e
use .inboxes.local instead of inboxes/local

Hoping this reaches the right place. The problem arrised from having the dri
snapshot from dri.sf.net installed on the system. This replaced libGL and seems
