I am unable to find any reason for this error.

I just uploaded the new fixed version of the fontforge-extras
package, but I forgot to close this bug in the changelog file.
So, I am now closing this bug this way.

first,
I think (because of big changes in this version).
Maybe you can try to use the fontforge-0.0.20070324-1 package
from the experimental branch. This package have many of new
features, but I still haven't heard nothing from the font
maintainers about this package.

Fixed on the my local copy and will be closed this

So, the correct value for pdfhyperref => unicode (at least for these
languages), even for the non utf8 locales.
