When I try to connect to it, the server prints the following to

By stracing, I found that it was winbind messing. When shutting down
winbind (I don't use it anyway), and removing its pid file
/var/run/samba/windbindd.pid and the socket
/var/run/samba/windbindd_privileged/sock and restarting samba it now works!

My problem is that the udev package needs kernel modules
in /lib/modules/2.6.15-1-686. Mine is in 2.6.15.3... Why is the udev
package script looking at that particular directory? I really hope it's
